Two Books Wrap: Twisted Handle

本包み(ねじり持ち手) hon tsutsumi (nejiri mochite)

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 68 cm. Knot: Square knot, Twisted rope (handle twist).

Two Books Wrap: Twisted Handle, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and set the 2 books side by side in the centre. Corner A points at you; B is right, C is far, D is left.
  2. Fold corner A (near) over the books.
  3. Fold corner C (far) over the books, on top of A. Pull the furoshiki snug so the books sit in a tight tube. You should now see the books in a long tube, with B and D sticking out at the ends.
  4. Twist corner D (left) into a tight rope.
  5. Repeat step 4 with corner B (right). You should now see a tube with a twisted rope at each end.
  6. Stand the books up back to back, ropes pointing up. Fold the tube in half between the 2 books.
  7. Tie the rope ends B and D in a square knot on top. You should now see 2 books standing together with a twisted handle knotted on top.
