Wreath Wrap: Two-Tone Spiral

リース包み(二色らせん巻き) rīsu tsutsumi (nishoku rasen maki)

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 68 cm. Knot: Single knot.

Wreath Wrap: Two-Tone Spiral, finished
  1. Lay a two-sided furoshiki as a diamond and place the ring on its far half. Use a ring about 25 cm across on a 68–70 cm furoshiki. Corner C (far) reaches past the top of the ring. One half shows the dark side, the other the light side.
  2. Tie corner C (far) around the top of the ring. You should now see a knot at the top of the ring with both halves hanging below.
  3. Twist the 2 halves together into one two-tone rope. Keep the dark and light sides showing in turn as you twist.
  4. Wrap the rope down around the right side of the ring. You should now see the right side of the ring covered, the rope end trailing at the bottom.
  5. Keep wrapping the rope up around the left side to the top. Follow the same spiral direction as on the right side.
  6. Tuck the rope end under the knot at the top. You should now see the whole ring covered in a dark and light spiral with one knot at the top.
