Waist Pack

腰袋 koshi bukuro

Use a small or medium furoshiki, at least 45 cm. Knot: Square knot.

Waist Pack, finished
  1. Hold the furoshiki up against your hip as a square, with B and C at the top and A and D at the bottom. Plain inside facing away from you: A is bottom-left, B top-left, C top-right, D bottom-right.
  2. Fold the top edge over your belt so corners B and C hang in front. Pass the top edge from behind the belt to the front; B is on the left, C on the right. You should now see the furoshiki hanging from the belt like a short apron.
  3. Lift corners A and D up to the belt. Bring each lower corner up in front, as the 2 arrows show, so the furoshiki forms a pouch.
  4. Tie A to B in a square knot at the belt, then tie D to C the same way.
