Two Bottles Wrap: Carry Bundle

二本瓶包み(束ね持ち) nihon bin tsutsumi (tabane mochi)

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 68 cm. Knot: Square knot.

Two Bottles Wrap: Carry Bundle, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and stand both bottles side by side in the centre. Corner A points at you; the bottles touch each other.
  2. Wrap corner A (near) round one bottle's neck and C (far) round the other's. Each corner goes once round its own neck, then the 2 meet between the bottles.
  3. Tie A and C in a square knot between the 2 necks. Cross the ends and tie once, then cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see a knot at the necks and corners B and D hanging at the sides.
  4. Lift corners B (right) and D (left) up the sides of the bottles. Pull them up snug so the furoshiki wraps around both bottles.
  5. Tie B and D in a square knot above the necks to make a handle. Leave a short loop between bottle tops and knot to slip your hand through. You should now see both bottles wrapped together with a knotted handle on top.
