Tissue Box Wrap

ティッシュ箱包み tisshu bako tsutsumi

Use a medium furoshiki, at least 68 cm. Knot: Square knot.

Tissue Box Wrap, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you. B points right, C away from you, D left.
  2. Place the tissue box in the centre, tissue opening up. Set the box square to the furoshiki: its long sides parallel to the left-near and right-far edges, so one short end faces the edge between A and B. You should now see the box in the middle with the tissue standing up.
  3. Lift corners A (near) and B (right) up to meet at the right end of the box top. A comes up the corner of the box; B comes up over the right end.
  4. Tie A and B in a square knot at the right end of the box top. Tie once, then tie again crossing the other way; keep it clear of the tissue. You should now see one flat knot at the right end, with the left side of the furoshiki still flat.
  5. Lift corners C (far) and D (left) up to the left end of the box top.
  6. Tie C and D in a square knot at the left end of the box top. Then pull the next tissue up between the 2 knots. You should now see a knot at each end of the top, with the tissue poking out between them.
