Shoulder Bag: Rolled Rope Strap

ショルダーバッグ(二枚使い) shorudā baggu (nimai zukai)

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 68 cm.

Shoulder Bag: Rolled Rope Strap, finished
  1. Place the items in the centre of the first furoshiki. Tie corners A and B together once, then tie their tips together in a square knot to make a handle. Mynavi: tie neighbouring corners once, then square-knot the same two tips; make two of these.
  2. Do the same with corners C and D to make the second handle. You should now see a bag with 2 knotted handles.
  3. Fold the second furoshiki in half on the diagonal into a triangle. Bring the near corner up onto the far corner.
  4. Starting from the side where the two corners lie on top of each other, roll it up tightly into a rope. Roll from the far point toward the folded edge.
  5. Tie the rope once, a little off the centre, so the roll does not come loose.
  6. Thread the rope through both handles of the bag and tie its two ends together in a square knot. You should now see a rope ring through both handles, closed with a flat knot.
  7. Wear it across the body.
