Rabbit Wrap: Round Bunny

うさぎ包み(丸型) usagi tsutsumi (maru gata)

Use a small furoshiki, at least 45 cm. Knot: Square knot.

Rabbit Wrap: Round Bunny, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and place the round object in the centre. Corner A points at you.
  2. Lift corners A (near) and C (far) together into a peak above the object. Hold A and C in one hand; B and D stay out at the sides.
  3. Tie A and C in a square knot right on top of the object. Tie close to the object and pull the 2 ends up straight as ears. You should now see 2 ears standing on top and corners B and D out at the sides.
  4. Wrap corners B (right) and D (left) around the object to the front. Pass each corner behind the object so the two meet at the front, ready to tie.
  5. Tie B and D in a small square knot at the front. Cross the ends and tie once, then cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see a round bunny with 2 ears on top and a small knot at the front.
  6. Pull ends A and C up and open them out into 2 ears. Close-up of the bunny: the top knot makes the ears, the small front knot sits below them. You should now see 2 upright ears on top and a small flat knot at the front.
