One Bottle Wrap: Simple Neck Knot

一本瓶包み(首元結び) ippon bin tsutsumi (kubimoto musubi)

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 68 cm. Knot: Square knot.

One Bottle Wrap: Simple Neck Knot, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and stand the bottle in the centre. Corner A points at you.
  2. Lift all 4 corners up toward the bottle's neck. Hold the furoshiki close to the bottle so it stands up around it.
  3. Tie corners B (right) and C (far) in a square knot around the neck. Cross the ends and tie once, then cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see a knot at the neck and corners A and D hanging in one triangle.
  4. Wrap corners A and D around the bottle in opposite directions up to the neck. Keep the furoshiki smooth against the bottle body; the ends cross in front of the neck, just below the first knot.
  5. Tie A and D in a square knot at the neck, over the first knot. Let the ends point out to each side like ears. You should now see the bottle body wrapped and a knot at the neck with 2 ends pointing out.
