Gift Wrap: Round Box Coiled Knot
贈り物包み(丸箱・渦巻き結び) okurimono tsutsumi (maru bako, uzumaki musubi)
Use a small or medium furoshiki, at least 45 cm. Knot: Square knot, Rosette.

- Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and place the round box in the centre. Corner A points at you.
- Lift corners A (near) and C (far) together above the box. Hold them side by side in one hand.
- Wrap B (right) and D (left) round the base of A and C, one each way, and tie them in a small square knot. Keep holding A and C up; B and D pull the sides in against the box. Leave A and C standing up above the knot. You should now see a small flat knot on the lid, with A and C standing up as 2 tall ends.
- Wrap end A round the base of the knot and tuck its tip under. Close-up: wrap the end once round the base of the knot, then push its tip under the wrap.
- Repeat step 4 with end C, wrapping it the same way. You should now see a round, coiled knot on top with no ends showing.
- Press the 2 coils flat so they sit evenly around the knot. Close-up of the finished coiled knot: each end wraps around the knot base and its tip is hidden underneath. You should now see a round, flat rosette on the lid with no loose tips.
