Flower Wrap

花束包み hanataba tsutsumi

Use a medium or large furoshiki, at least 70 cm. Knot: Square knot.

Flower Wrap, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond and lay the bouquet across it. Put the blooms past the far-left edge, between D and C, and the stems toward the centre.
  2. Fold corners D (left) and C (far) up around the stems. These are the 2 corners at either end of the edge behind the blooms. Hold them together just below the blooms.
  3. Tie D and C in a square knot around the stems, below the blooms. You should now see a knot under the blooms and a big flap of fabric hanging below.
  4. Fold corner A (near) up toward the knot. This forms a cuff that covers the stem ends.
  5. Wrap A and B around the stems, one each way.
  6. Tie A and B in a square knot just below the first knot. You should now see the bouquet standing in a furoshiki sleeve with 2 knots under the flowers, one above the other.
