Napkin Fold: Rolled Glass Points

ナプキン折り(巻き山) napukin ori (maki yama)

Use a small furoshiki, at least 35 cm.

Napkin Fold: Rolled Glass Points, finished
  1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you. B points right, C away from you and D left.
  2. Fold corner C (far) down onto corner A (near). Line the tips up so you get a triangle with the long fold away from you.
  3. Roll the triangle tightly from the long fold toward A and C. Keep the roll even so both ends stay the same thickness. You should now see a long thin roll with B at the right end and D at the left.
  4. Bend the roll in half, bringing ends B and D up side by side. The middle of the roll becomes the bottom of a U.
  5. Push the folded roll, bend first, into the glass. You should now see 2 points, B and D, standing up above the rim.
