Fragments

The furoshiki is broken into irregular, angular shards of different colours or patterns, like torn fabric scraps. It reads as a lively all-over pattern on any wrap.

Modern layout inspired by fabric scraps

Kire-dori, the 'fabric-scrap layout', breaks the surface into irregular shards as if made from torn or cut pieces of different fabrics. It draws on the same appreciation of precious fragments as yose-gire patchwork and the meibutsu-gire collected by tea masters, but as a printed furoshiki layout it is a modern maker's design.
