A single knot tied in a doubled rope, leaving a fixed loop to carry the bundle by.

Fold the rope's end back down beside the rope.
Tie the doubled rope in a single knot.
Pull the loop up and the tip down to tighten.

How to undo it

Push the loop back into the knot to loosen it, then pull the doubled end out.

Mistakes

Pulling the tip through instead of the folded end gives a plain single knot with no loop.
