# Scarf: Loose Front Knot

スカーフ巻き（ゆるい前結び） sukāfu maki (yurui mae musubi)

Use a large or x-large furoshiki, at least 90 cm. Knot: [Tie once (half knot)](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-tie-once/).

1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you. Use 90 cm (nishi-haba) or larger, so the ends are still long enough to tie after the extra wrap.
2. Fold corner A (near) up onto corner C (far) to make a triangle.
3. Fold the point (A and C) down to the long edge.
4. Fold the new top edge down to the long edge again. Each fold is about 5–8 cm.
5. Keep folding the same way until you have a band 5–8 cm wide, D at the left end and B at the right. You should now see a long flat band with D at the left end and B at the right.
6. Drape the band around the back of your neck, ends B and D hanging in front. Let B hang a little longer than D.
7. Wrap end B across your throat and once around your neck. Bring B back out at the front so both ends hang down again.
8. Tie B and D loosely once at your throat. You should now see a loose knot at your throat with 2 ends hanging down.
9. Loosen the knot a little so it sits soft and low at your throat. Close-up of the knot: one loose tie, with both ends hanging down the front. You should now see a soft single knot with 2 ends hanging below it.
