Use a small furoshiki.

1. Lay the furoshiki wrong side up. Lay it square, one edge facing you.
2. Fold it in half, setting the fold 4-5 cm off-centre so a strip of the lower layer shows. Bring the far edge toward you and stop 4-5 cm before the near edge.
3. Fold the right edge in about 2 cm. You should now see a rectangle with a narrow strip of the lower layer along the near edge.
4. Fold it in once more to form the cutlery pocket. Turn the right end over again, about 10 cm, on the same side. This flap is the pocket.
5. Check the pocket close up: the right edge is folded in twice, with the 2 cm turn tucked under the flap. You should now see the flap lying over the mat along the right edge, open at the near end.
6. Set chopsticks or cutlery in the pocket. You should now see the chopsticks lying under the flap, their ends showing at the near edge.
