1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond (A near, B right, C far, D left) and stand the bottle in the centre. Corner C (far) will later wind round the neck, so keep the bottle in the middle with equal furoshiki on every side.
2. Fold corner A (near) toward the bottle. Stop the tip of A a hand's width in front of the bottle.
3. Lift corner C (far) up behind the bottle, twist it and wind it tightly round the neck. Gather the furoshiki round the bottle as you lift. Tuck C's tip under the last turn. You should now see the furoshiki gathered up the bottle and bound at the neck.
4. Hold corners B and D out to the sides. Hold the bottle by the neck so the furoshiki hangs below it.
5. Wrap corners B and D around the neck in opposite directions. Pass each end once around the neck so they meet at the front.
6. Tie B and D in a square knot at the front of the neck. Cross the ends and tie once, then cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see the bottle covered, a knot at the neck and the bottle top showing.
7. Pull ends B and D sideways so the neck knot sits flat and snug. Close-up of the neck: the furoshiki gathers in folds above the knot. You should now see a flat knot round the neck with 2 short ends pointing sideways.
