1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond. Corner A points at you.
2. Fold corner C (far) down onto corner A (near) to make a triangle. Line up the edges; B and D now sit at the 2 ends of the folded edge. The fold only lines B and D up for the next step.
3. Tie B and D in a square knot around the base of the hanger's hook. Hold the hanger hook up over the middle of the folded edge, bring B and D up to the base of the hook, then cross the ends and tie once, cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see the furoshiki hanging from the hook in 2 layers, tips A and C at the bottom.
4. Twist the right layer (corner A) into a rope and wind it along the right arm. Wind down the arm and along the bottom bar to the middle; let A hang there.
5. Twist the left layer (corner C) and wind it along the left arm. Repeat step 4 on the left side, ending at the middle of the bottom bar. You should now see both arms wrapped in rope, with A and C hanging at the middle of the bar.
6. Tie A and C in a square knot around the middle of the bottom bar. Cross the ends and tie once, then cross them the other way and tie again. You should now see the whole hanger wrapped, with a knot hanging below the bar.
