# Belt: Woven-End Sash

帯（編み込み端） obi (amikomi hashi)

Use a large or x-large furoshiki, at least 90 cm. Knot: [Tie once (half knot)](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-tie-once/), [Single knot](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-single/).

1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you. B points right, C away from you and D left.
2. Fold corner C (far) down onto corner A (near) to make a triangle.
3. Fold the triangle over and over from the point into a band. Stop when the band is about 6-8 cm wide, with B and D at the ends. You should now see a long band with B at one end and D at the other.
4. Wrap the band around your waist from the back, ends to the front. Hold B in your left hand and D in your right, crossing at your centre front.
5. Tie B and D once at your centre front. Pull snug so the band sits flat; let both ends hang down. You should now see the band round your waist with 2 ends hanging from one tie.
6. Tie B and D together in a single knot just below the first tie. Hold both ends as one and make an overhand knot.
7. Repeat step 6a to add knots until the ends are short. You should now see a short chain of knots hanging from the front of the band.
8. Lay the knotted chain flat along the front of the band. Wrap the tips once round the band at the side and tuck them under; the chain of knots looks like a braid. You should now see a braided-looking section along the front of the band.
9. Slide the belt so the woven section sits at the front. You should now see a smooth sash with a woven section across the front.
