1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you, and fold corner C (far) down onto A. B points right and D left. Leave C a little short of A so both tips show.
2. You now have a triangle, with the long fold away from you and B and D at its two ends. C sits just short of A, so both tips show.
3. Lay the triangle over your head, long fold framing your face, and bring B and D in to cross under your chin. The point (A and C) hangs down your back; hold B in your right hand and D in your left.
4. With B and D crossed under your chin, carry them round your neck to the back, as the arrows show. Keep them flat and snug against your neck; the arrows show each end going round its own side. You should now see the ends wrapped closely around your neck.
5. Cross the ends at the back of your neck, bring both forward to one side and tie them in a square knot just below your ear. Tie once, then tie again crossing the other way. You should now see the scarf snug round your neck, with a small knot at one side.
