# Bandana: Side Rosette Cap

バンダナ（帽子・横バラ結び） bandana (bōshi, yoko bara musubi)

Use a small or medium furoshiki, at least 50 cm. Knot: [Tie once (half knot)](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-tie-once/), [Rosette](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-rosette/).

1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you. B points right, C away from you and D left.
2. Fold corner C (far) down onto corner A (near). You should now have a triangle, long fold away from you, with B and D at its two ends.
3. Lay the long fold across your forehead, point toward the back. Bring B straight to just behind one ear; take D around the back of your head, over the point, to meet it.
4. Tie B and D once behind your ear. Tuck the point (A and C) up under the band at the back of your head so the cap is smooth. You should now see a close cap with 2 ends hanging behind one ear.
5. Twist B and D together into one tight rope. Twist in one direction until the rope starts to curl back on itself.
6. Coil the rope around the knot and tuck the end underneath. You should now see a round, coiled rosette just behind your ear, with no end showing.
