1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a square. Corner A is near-left, B far-left, C far-right, D near-right.
2. Hold A and D and lay the near edge across your forehead. Let the rest of the furoshiki fall over your head and down your back, like a hood. You should now see the furoshiki framing your face, with A and D hanging by your cheeks.
3. Roll the left side edge back toward your ear, starting at corner D. Roll outward, away from your face, until the roll sits just behind your hairline.
4. Repeat step 3a on the other side, starting at corner A. You should now see a rolled edge on each side of your face, ends A and D hanging behind your ears.
5. Tie A and D in a square knot at the nape, over the furoshiki. First gather the far edge with B and C up under A and D, so no tails show. You should now see a snug cap from behind, with a flat knot at the nape.
6. Adjust the rolled edges so the cap sits evenly around your face. You should now see a snug cap with rolled edges framing your face.
