# Bandana: Front Bow Turban

バンダナ（ターバン巻き・前蝶結び） bandana (tāban maki, mae chō musubi)

Use a small or medium furoshiki, at least 54 cm. Knot: [Tie once (half knot)](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-tie-once/), [Bow](https://www.furoshiki.com/knots/knot-bow/).

1. Lay the furoshiki inside up as a diamond, corner A pointing at you, and fold corner C (far) down onto A. B points right, C away from you and D left.
2. You now have a triangle, with the long fold away from you and B and D at its two ends. C sits just short of A, so both tips show.
3. Lay the long fold across your forehead, point toward the back. Hold B in your right hand and D in your left. The point (A and C) lies down the back of your head.
4. Take B and D behind your neck and tie them once at the nape, over the point. Pull it snug so the furoshiki sits close to your head. The knot is at the back, out of sight in this view. You should now see the furoshiki covering your hair with 2 ends hanging at the nape.
5. Bring B and D forward around your head to the forehead. After the tie, B comes up on your left side and D on your right. Keep each end flat or lightly twisted as it goes round above your ears.
6. Tie B and D in a small bow above your forehead. Tie once, then tie again with loops; tuck any long tails under the band. You should now see a turban with a small bow at the front, above your forehead.
