Four small diamonds grouped into one large diamond, a crest-derived motif; the Takeda clan's Takeda-bishi is a version of it, and it carries the diamond's sense of prosperity.

Heraldic; Sengoku-period Takeda clan

A diamond divided into four smaller diamonds (yotsuwari-bishi) is best known as Takeda-bishi, the crest of the Takeda daimyō of Kai, made famous by Takeda Shingen. Related four-diamond groupings (tōbishi, shigebishi) were court yūsoku patterns used on aristocratic robe linings. Repeated, the crest became an all-over textile pattern.

Takeda-bishi is still a civic emblem in Yamanashi and appears at the Shingen-kō festival.
