# Twisted ring

ねじり輪 nejiri wa

Twist each of the 2 ends of a top knot into a rope and tie their tips together, making a twisted ring to carry by or as decoration.

1. Twist each end into a tight rope, both the same way.
2. Bend the 2 ropes up into a ring and tie their tips in a square knot.
3. Done: the finished twisted ring on a wrapped box.

## How to undo it

Untie the small square knot at the top of the ring, let the 2 ropes untwist, then untie the knot below.

## Mistakes

- A loose twist unwinds while you tie; hold each rope's twist in your fingers until the top knot is tight.
- Tying the top knot as a vertical knot: it slips under load; redo the second tie crossing the other way.
