# Rosette

バラ結び bara musubi

A decorative finish: the knot's ends are twisted and coiled flat round the knot like a rose.

1. Twist each end tightly into a cord, both the same way.
2. Coil D flat round the knot and tuck its tip under the coil.
3. Coil B the same way beside it and tuck its tip under.
4. Press the 2 coils flat so they sit like roses round the knot.
5. Done: the finished rosette on a wrapped box.

## How to undo it

Pull the tip out from under the coil, unwind it, let the rope untwist, then untie the knot.

## Mistakes

- Coiling a loose twist: the rosette springs open.
- Leaving the tip on top: tuck it under the outside of the coil so it is hidden.
